What is a tithe and offering?

Your tithe is the first 10 percent of your income that God calls you to give to your local church each month.

An offering is any money you choose to give above and beyond the tithe.

What does the bible say about tithing?

"Honor God with your substance and with the first fruits of your increase." Proverbs 3:9

 

"Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." Malachi 3:10

"But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver." 2 Corinthians 9:6-7
